Privacy Policy
Your privacy matters. This policy explains how Ding Messenger handles your information when you use our application.
Effective date: October 9, 2026
Our approach to privacy
Ding is designed for private, lightweight messaging. We aim to collect only the information necessary to operate the service, protect accounts, and deliver messages. The exact information processed depends on the features you use and the permissions you grant.
1. Information We Collect
Depending on how you use Ding, we may process the following categories of information:
Account information
- Your mobile phone number, including its country code, for registration and account verification.
- Account identifiers and information needed to authenticate your account.
- Profile information you choose to provide, if supported by the app.
Messages and communications
We process the information needed to send, receive, and deliver messages. Message content, delivery information, and temporary server-side data may be processed according to the messaging features and architecture implemented in Ding.
Contacts
If you grant contact access, Ding may process contact information to help you find people who use the service. Contact access is subject to your device permissions and the contact-discovery functionality enabled in the app.
Technical information
Our systems and service providers may process technical information such as IP addresses, device and app information, connection data, diagnostic records, and timestamps when necessary to operate, troubleshoot, and secure the service.
2. How We Use Information
Information may be used to:
- Create accounts and verify phone numbers.
- Connect users and deliver messages and notifications.
- Maintain, operate, and improve Ding Messenger.
- Detect abuse, spam, unauthorized access, and security threats.
- Diagnose technical problems and maintain service reliability.
- Respond to support requests and comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information. Any additional uses should be disclosed here before the corresponding functionality is introduced.
3. Messages and Encryption
Ding is intended to support private communications. The privacy of your messages depends on the encryption and message-handling mechanisms actually implemented in the version of the app you use.
If end-to-end encryption is implemented for a communication, its content is designed to be readable only by the communicating participants and not by the service operator, subject to the protocol and features involved.
Encryption does not necessarily conceal all metadata. Information needed to route, deliver, or protect communications may still be processed by the service.
Ding aims to minimize stored chat history. However, messages or related data may temporarily exist on devices, servers, or backups depending on delivery status, implementation, and retention settings. Deleting a message or account may not automatically erase copies already held by recipients.
4. Contacts and App Permissions
Ding may request access to certain device features to provide its functionality. For example:
- Contacts: To help identify people you know who use Ding, if contact discovery is enabled.
- Notifications: To alert you about incoming messages or other supported events.
- Network access: To communicate with Ding's servers.
You can manage supported permissions in your device settings. Denying a permission may limit the associated feature without necessarily preventing you from using the rest of the app.
Only permissions and data uses actually implemented in Ding should be considered applicable to this policy.
5. Information Sharing
We do not sell personal information. Information may be shared only as necessary in circumstances such as:
- Service providers: Infrastructure, hosting, database, delivery, and security providers that help operate Ding.
- Other users: Information you intentionally share with recipients through the app.
- Legal requirements: When disclosure is required by applicable law or valid legal process.
- Safety and security: When reasonably necessary to investigate abuse, protect users, or prevent harm.
Service providers should process information only for authorized purposes and under appropriate safeguards.
6. Data Retention and Account Deletion
We retain personal information only for as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy, subject to applicable legal, security, and operational requirements.
Deleting your account
You can request account deletion in either of these ways:
- Open Ding Messenger, go to Settings, and tap Delete account.
- Email deebash2009@gmail.com with the subject "Ding Account Deletion Request". Include your registered phone number with country code.
We may need to verify your identity before processing an email request. After verification, we will process deletion in accordance with our applicable procedures.
Account deletion is intended to remove your account and associated personal information, subject to information that must be retained by law or for legitimate security purposes. Any retained information will be handled according to applicable requirements.
Deleting your account may not remove messages, screenshots, or other copies already saved by other users on their devices.
7. Security
We use appropriate technical and organizational measures intended to protect information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, and alteration.
No method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure. We therefore cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Children's Privacy
Ding is not intended for children who are below the minimum age required to use the service under applicable law. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children in violation of applicable legal requirements.
If you believe a child has provided personal information inappropriately, contact us so we can review the request.
9. Your Choices and Rights
Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, or to raise concerns about how it is processed.
You can manage device permissions through your device settings and request account deletion using the methods described above. Contact us if you have questions about your personal information.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when Ding's features, practices, or legal requirements change. When we make changes, we will update the effective date shown at the top of this page. Where required, we will provide additional notice.
